A Response to “Decolonize Palestine at UBC”

In an opinion letter to the The Ubyssey written in December of 2023, Drs. Jessica Hanser and Richard Menkis respond to a previous call to “Decolonize Palestine at UBC,” by Dr. Hicham Safieddine. Hanser and Menkis reject the inflammatory language and distortion of events related to the Hamas-Israel War in Safieddine’s piece, pointing to the material effects of such hateful rhetoric for members of UBC’s Jewish community.
